Municipality of Nissewaard simplifies parking payments

In the Municipality of Nissewaard, residents and businesses can pay for parking permits, exemptions, and garage subscriptions in various ways.

At the desk, one can choose between debit card and cash. Via the E-desk, payments can be made directly with iDEAL and in installments via direct debit, a payment request, or (for businesses) on invoice.

Until last year (2023), the processing and handling of direct debits and invoices to be sent from the parking permit system was carried out by the municipality's own financial department. This was a complex and labor-intensive process.

Starting this year (2024), the municipality has outsourced the handling of direct debits, payment requests, and invoices to Tobias Fiscaal. (Tobias Fiscaal has been taking care of the collection of additional parking tax assessments for a growing number of municipalities since 2001. In practice, this means integral debtor management for Dutch and foreign license plate holders.)

A digital connection has been made between the parking permit system ParQ and Tobias.

New transactions in ParQ for a new application, a renewal, or a refund upon termination, are automatically sent to Tobias daily. Processing within Tobias and informing the customer also happens automatically. This means that the customer receives an invoice, a refund, a monthly direct debit, or a monthly payment request.

The municipality no longer has to worry about this and receives an overview of the income and expenses from Tobias that the municipality can use for accounting.
